Sunset on the Grand Canal
Sunset on the Grand Canal

I noticed the colours of the sky and the setting sun when I was leaving my daughter Siún, to camogie practice in nearby Good Counsel GAA Club.

I quickly parked the car, waved goodbye, grabbed my camera and ran out the gate and across the Luas Rail line, where I stopped briefly to take two frames, and then crossed on towards the Canal, stepped onto the pedestrian walk on the Lock Gate where I stopped again to get a few nice reflections in the Canal. Phew!

It was all done and dusted in 5 minutes before the sun went rapidly down and the colours quickly disappeared. It pays to keep a camera at hand! Mind you I got some very queer looks from people that were in the area!!
