The Pudding Night formalities were over but as usual the last stragglers...the Voice Squad...in a rugby scrum gathered together to finish off with the Parting Glass...the scrum was getting bigger as I peeped over the shoulder of Gerry Cullen...the only person with any visible light falling upon them was Irish Writer Colm Tóibín, whose eyes were fixed on Fran McPhail as he sang the leading lines...everybody that was left on the floor joined the scrum. I now being in the middle of it tried to extricate myself as I was being pulled left and right, while trying desperately to remain still for the required one twentieth of a second at ISO 1600...just about got away with it! taken on my pocket-able Lumix LX3.
