I was waiting for the pedestrian lights to turn in my favour when this elderly, and strikingly Independent woman, made her move to cross the road. The glass from an office block behind me reflected the sunlight directly onto her and made her stand out. She'll confidently make her own way across - thank you very much - as it seems she has made her own way throughout her life.
Another younger woman pedestrian close by, but not with her, keeps a gentle "eye-out" so that the older woman can make her way safely across. The younger woman is not intrusive, realising from the body language of the older woman that she "ploughs her own furrow".
A few seconds later and safely to the other side of the road, they both exchanged smiles - nothing said but a very subtle random act of kindness has happened, and equally, it was very subtly acknowledged. These are my type of people!
