Known in the Góilín Singers Club, with affection, as "the real Gerry O'Reilly" in deference Jerry O'Reilly one of the co-founder's of the Club. Best if I sit on the fence on this one and hope nobody notices...except Niamh Parsons!
Gerry is a fine singer and "recycler" of songs... among them the comical lyrics of "Tamango's" which is a Dublinese version, written by Gerry, to the tune of "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow.
The light in the Góilín Singers Club is so poor now that it's almost impossible to take photographs without the intrusive use of a flash. This shot of Gerry was just about "doable" because the wall behind him was lit by a small lamp - this put him into complete silhouette.
