Legendary Folk Singers - Peggy Seeger Ewan MacColl - came to Dublin in c.1985/86 They came to add their voices in support of the Dunnes Stores Workers, in their heroic resistance to selling fruit from then Apartheid ridden South Africa.
Peggy & Ewan were friends of the late Paul O'Brien who organised a few gigs for them, and he kindly invited me [and the cameras] along.
In the final Liberty Hall gig I was backstage with Ewan & Peggy, when it came near to performance time. Peggy asked me if I would carry her instruments onto the stage. Most people who know me, know me to be shy but I cast shyness aside and proudly carried the instruments on stage...what a wonderful honour. I'll always cherish that moment.
